Love Labor’s Lost pre-opening email

I wanted to connect with our patrons by including more in our pre-show email marketing than simply the show information. In the example, I also suggested some interesting and fun third-party resources for our audience to learn about the play. Additionally, I strove to build trust in the company, while proving useful information to our playgoers, by including a restaurant recommendation from each staff member.

Love’s Labor’s Lost

October 30 – November 17

Center Theatre, Seattle Armory

By William Shakespeare

Directed by Janet Hayatshahi

Our fall production opens in two weeks! We couldn’t be more excited to bring you one of our favorite works by the Bard, the comedic romp Love’s Labor’s Lost.

About Love’s Labor’s: Intent on intellectual study for himself and his companions, King Navarre proclaims three years of all work and no play – including no romance. On cue, a princess and her ladies arrive at court on a diplomatic mission, and the men can’t help falling head over heels. Will they decide to break their oaths to pursue love? (Spoiler: Yes.) And if they do, just how ridiculous can things get?

Get 20% off tickets for November 2-9. Code: BEROWNE.

this shakespeare is gay: love’s labour’s lost is gay
Hosts Emma and Hailey make a case for queerness in every Shakespeare play. In the case of Love’s Labor’s Lost, they discuss what happens when you’re so inept at courtship it becomes gay.

Pair the show with a culinary delight

“If sack and sugar be a fault, God help the wicked.”

– Henry IV, Part 1, 2.4.487
